TELECOM ENGINEER – FIBER OPTIC

Work Schedule: 5 Days per Week

Salary & Benefits:

• Option 1: QAR 4,750–5,000 + Accommodation + Transportation + Other Benefits
• Option 2: Full Package QAR 6,000–6,500 + Transportation (Accommodation not included)

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSc.) in Telecommunication Engineering.

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of extensive experience in Fiber Optic Networks, including:
• Fiber optic installation
• Fiber splicing
• Fiber testing and troubleshooting
• Extensive hands-on experience with fiber optic tools and testing equipment, including:
• Fusion Splicing Machine
• OTDR
• Laser Source
• Optical Power Meter
• Other fiber testing equipment
• Completion of multiple Fiber Optic Installation, Splicing, and Testing training programs is preferred.
• Experience working with Ooredoo, QNBN, or Vodafone fiber optic infrastructure is highly preferred.
• Valid Qatar Driving License is mandatory.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Computer literate with good knowledge of:
• MS Office
• AutoCAD
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic cable installation, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, optical power meters, laser sources, and other specialized equipment.
• Analyze OTDR test results and identify faults, attenuation, losses, and fiber defects.
• Perform fusion splicing and ensure proper fiber joint quality.
• Carry out testing and certification of newly installed and existing fiber optic networks.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic network failures and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate fiber test reports, splicing records, cable schedules, and technical documentation.
• Read and interpret fiber optic network drawings, layouts, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate with project, maintenance, and field teams to complete fiber optic works safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all installations and testing activities comply with approved technical standards and procedures.
• Support maintenance and restoration activities for fiber optic infrastructure when required.

Pay: QAR6,000.00 - QAR6,500.00 per month
