Job Summary

The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics teaching in line with the Doha Academy curriculum and educational standards. The role involves planning and delivering engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons that develop students’ mathematical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, logical reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

The Mathematics Teacher will play a key role in monitoring student progress, addressing individual learning needs, and promoting high standards of mathematical achievement. The role also includes contributing to whole-school initiatives, pastoral support, enrichment activities, staff collaboration, and maintaining effective communication with parents and school leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated Mathematics lessons in line with the school curriculum.
• Develop students’ mathematical knowledge, problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills.
• Monitor, assess, and track student progress and achievement in Mathematics.
• Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and classroom management.
• Use a range of teaching strategies, technology, and resources to support effective learning.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their mathematical understanding and performance.
• Develop and review schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, and teaching resources.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of individual students.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards Mathematics.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment, and attainment.
• Identify students who require additional support and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to improve student outcomes.
• Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, training, and professional development.
• Contribute to mathematics-related events, enrichment activities, competitions, and extracurricular programmes.
• Support pastoral care and promote students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress and development.
• Contribute to the school’s development plans and wider educational initiatives.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of School or Senior Leadership Team.
