Sales Engineer – Elevators & Vertical Transportation
Job Summary
We are hiring a Sales Engineer to manage and grow our elevator business by generating leads, preparing technical-commercial proposals, and closing sales for new installations, modernization, and maintenance contracts. This role requires a strong mix of technical understanding and commercial skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for elevators, lift modernization, maintenance contracts, and related vertical transportation solutions.
- Visit sites to understand project requirements and coordinate technical inputs for accurate proposals.
- Prepare and submit quotations, BOQs, technical submittals, and commercial offers (including options and value engineering).
- Follow up with clients, consultants, and contractors to close deals and meet monthly/quarterly targets.
- Coordinate internally with engineering, procurement, and operations to confirm feasibility, lead times, and pricing.
- Support tendering activities: document preparation, clarifications, and negotiation.
- Maintain a structured pipeline (leads, opportunities, forecasting) and report progress regularly.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders: developers, facility managers, consultants, and main contractors.
- Ensure smooth handover of awarded projects to execution teams with clear scope, specs, and timelines.
- Collect market intelligence on competitors, pricing trends, and customer needs.
Requirements (Must Have)
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering (or relevant experience).
- 2+ years experience in sales or business development in elevators, MEP, construction, or industrial equipment (preferred).
- Strong ability to understand technical requirements and convert them into clear commercial offers.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings/specifications and coordinate required submittals.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Valid driving license (field visits).
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience selling maintenance contracts and managing renewals.
- Understanding of elevator standards and project workflows (submittals, approvals, handover).
- CRM experience (tracking pipeline, forecasts, and follow-ups).
- Strong Excel and proposal-writing skills.
