Electronics Technician

Job Summary

We are hiring an Electronics Technician to support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of elevators and related vertical transportation equipment. The role focuses on electronic systems such as controllers/VFDs, safety circuits, sensors, door operators, and wiring—working alongside mechanical technicians to keep units safe, reliable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on elevators and related systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic faults (controller issues, VFD/drive faults, safety circuit interruptions, door operator faults, sensor failures, wiring problems).
Diagnose faults using multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester (megger), and basic diagnostic tools/software when applicable.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
Use troubleshooting manuals to identify fault codes, follow diagnostic steps, and resolve issues efficiently.
Repair/replace electrical components: relays, contactors, power supplies, encoders, limit switches, safety switches, boards, connectors, and harnesses.
Support testing and verification after repairs, including safety checks and functional confirmation.
Document work done: service reports, fault findings, parts used, and recommendations.
Follow safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and comply with company and local standards.
Coordinate with operations/dispatch and communicate clearly with supervisors and customers.

Requirements (Must Have)

Diploma/Technical certificate in Electronics / Electrical / Mechatronics (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of control circuits, electrical troubleshooting, and field wiring practices.
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting manuals.
Comfortable working on-site, in machine rooms, and at heights (when required).
Valid driving license (if required for your operation).

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience with elevator controllers, drives/VFDs, door operators, and safety chains.
PLC basics (diagnostics is a plus).
Understanding of safe working procedures (lockout/tagout).
Ability to prepare spare-parts requests and support maintenance planning.
