Every year, Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) offers multiple PhD fellowships for theoretical and experimental research in areas related to quantum information science (QIS).

This year, we are pleased to offer a PhD fellowship on Quantum Machine Learning in collaboration with Xanadu and as part of our recently established partnership.

Successful candidates will work in a vibrant environment under the supervision of a QC2 faculty and Xanadu, and will have the opportunity to collaborate with other PhD students, postdocs, Scientists and Senior Scientists within QC2, and with external collaborators. The candidate will also be offered an opportunity for an internship at Xanadu during their PhD.

Candidates are expected to have an MSc in relevant disciplines with GPA of at least 3.0. Candidates with a research track record and/or industry experience (e.g., internships) will be prioritized.

QC2 offers fully funded 3-year fellowships, which include: 100% tuition waiver, accommodation and monthly stipends.

About QC2 and HBKU
Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) is a newly established center within HBKU seeded by a major 10M USD grant from the government of Qatar. QC2 will be housed in a world-class purposely built research facility and will partner with both prominent academic research groups and industry leaders. With its three research groups focusing on quantum communication, quantum computation and quantum sensing, QC2 is envisioned to play a key role in advancing quantum computing research locally, regionally, and internationally.
