Job Summary

The Restaurant Helper assists with daily restaurant operations by maintaining cleanliness, supporting food preparation, serving customers when required, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized dining and working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain the restaurant, dining area, kitchen, and workstations.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation as instructed.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
  • Set up tables and arrange chairs, cutlery, and other dining supplies.
  • Clear tables and assist with serving food and beverages when required.
  • Refill water, napkins, condiments, and other restaurant supplies.
  • Dispose of waste properly and follow hygiene procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, counters, storage areas, and washrooms as assigned.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies and deliveries.
  • Follow food safety, health, and safety regulations.
  • Support waiters, chefs, and other team members during busy service periods.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel is an advantage but not always required.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning, hygiene, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Positive attitude, honesty, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
