JOB DESCRIPTION – PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PE) TEACHERS

Position: Physical Education (PE) Teacher
Gender Requirement: Female/Male
Curriculum: Cambridge IGCSE / Primary
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Physical Education

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Male and Female Physical Education Teachers to join our school. The school is looking to appoint teachers for the IGCSE and Primary sections, ensuring that students receive age-appropriate, curriculum-focused physical education.

Vacancy 1: Female PE Teacher – IGCSE Level

The IGCSE PE Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Physical Education lessons to secondary/IGCSE students. The successful candidate should preferably have experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Physical Education and preparing students for relevant practical and theoretical assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and school requirements.
  • Teach both the theoretical and practical components of Physical Education, where applicable.
  • Prepare students effectively for IGCSE examinations, practical assessments, coursework, and other curriculum requirements.
  • Assess, record, and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Organize and supervise sports activities, competitions, tournaments, and school sporting events.
  • Encourage student participation in physical activity and promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Identify students' sporting abilities and support their further development.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of student behaviour, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Ensure proper health and safety procedures are followed during all PE lessons and sporting activities.
  • Maintain PE equipment and ensure sports facilities are used safely and responsibly.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school's extracurricular and co-curricular programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification/licence is preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching PE at secondary level.
  • Cambridge IGCSE PE teaching experience is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of IGCSE assessment and examination requirements.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coach and supervise a variety of sports and physical activities.

Vacancy 2: Female/Male PE Teacher – Primary/Secondary Level

The Primary/Secondary PE Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, safe, and age-appropriate Physical Education lessons to primary school students, with a strong emphasis on fundamental movement skills, fitness, teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment of physical activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate PE lessons for Primary/Secondary students.
  • Develop students' fundamental movement, coordination, balance, fitness, and sporting skills.
  • Introduce students to a variety of individual and team sports.
  • Create an inclusive and encouraging environment in which all students can participate.
  • Monitor and assess students' physical development and progress.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, fair play, confidence, and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Organize sports days, house competitions, extracurricular activities, and other school sporting events.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during PE lessons and activities.
  • Maintain PE equipment and ensure that facilities and resources are used appropriately.
  • Work closely with primary teachers, school leadership, and parents when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification/licence is preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching Primary/Secondary-level Physical Education is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with young children of different ages and abilities.
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate physical activities.
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, patient, and committed to student development.

General Requirements for Both Positions

Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to student safeguarding, health and safety, inclusion, teamwork, and professional conduct. They should be willing to participate actively in school events, sports programmes, extracurricular activities, competitions, and other duties associated with the wider life of the school.

Note: These are two separate teaching positions. The school may appoint one Female PE Teacher for IGCSE/Secondary and a separate Female/Male PE Teacher for Primary/Secondary Level, based on qualifications, experience, and curriculum expertise.

Pay: QAR4,370.80 - QAR7,000.00 per month
