Great work environment. Manager was always willing to help and give encouragement whenever either me or other coworkers needed it. Workplace was very relaxed, but everyone got their work done.

Good company, work life balance is not good.

Qualcomm is a good company and cares about it's employees (so they can work more). Benefits are very good. Work culture is non-existent since everyone is either working or spending time with family. Work life balance depends on team, but my team values doing more work over anything else. The expectation is you are attending meetings, debugging, and coming up with ideas. There is a lot of stress, but the work can be rewarding.

Pros

Benefits, Interesting work

Cons

Work life balance, stress, work culture

Depends on department

IT Helpdesk and Desktop support get the shaft. Not a bad place to get started. Promotions are there after a few years. Not much room for growth. Duties are mostly the same across all levels.

Learned a lot

Great place all in all. Employees and benefits are what make this a great place, management isn't horrible, but doesn't give clear requirements for advancement.

Qualcomm has a bad reputation for a reason.

I have never heard anyone, including my manager, say anything positive about working here other than it is good experience for a resume. There is little room for growth, there is a history of pay discrimination and hard work is not rewarded or recognized. Because managers don't want to recognize employees on their own, they make you write a weekly list of accomplishments that leaves you in a constant state of seeking for and asking for approval. The moral is pretty low and management can be very condescending. Procurement has high turn over and regardless of what management says, it is not because you start as a temp. There are plenty of places that temps stay at because they are great places to work, this is not one of those places.

Overall great place to work. Opportunities to work on interesting, high impact projects with talented people.

Overall great place to work. Opportunities to work on interesting, high-impact projects with talented people from all over the world. There's something amazing about playing a small part in creating devices used by almost everyone in the world. I have found management to generally be flexible if ever needing time off for work/life balance.

Software Engineer

2 out of the 5 days of work, you will be on-site in the office working. You will show up in the lab and be working on the project assigned to you. When working from home, you will still be working from the project assigned to you. Meeting is every Wednesday to discuss what is going and and how to proceed forward.

Pros

Wfh

Cons

2 days in office

Good work, but wlb is not upto the mark

Work life balance is not proper. Work culture is good, and teammates are friendly. But after few days work looks a bit stable, and management is good.

Good place to work but too stressful

Flat organization and good support from the manager.Working in a big team can help all of us to grow together. However, the workload is too big. It needs more attention from management to either increase the manpower or rearrange the work.

Pros

Stock plan

Cons

Work load is too great

A company having very decent work life balance. Has good benefits.

A good place to start your career. Surely one advances into a role if he outperforms expectation. A decent benefits and reimbursement for higher studies. I

It is good for those who are less aspirational and want to settle down in their career

For experienced professionals, Qualcomm is one of the best companies to work. It offers career stability like no other in its space and has some good perquisites. It is easy to come across people who started their career here and almost reaching their retirement age.Being a huge organization, it is process driven and encourages automation across many groups which is something I liked. On the flip side, I felt there were way too many people than their job demands making day to day work less efficient. For fresh graduates, while there's ample scope to learn new things for 1 - 1.5 years, it could get monotonous thereafter (it's true in every other job as well). In the interest of their career, it would be good to learn as much in this time and use it as a pedestal to move on with their long term goals. The easiest part of the job is to be in a meeting for most of the productive day and the hardest part is to figure out if that time was well spent.

What is it like at Qualcomm

its a place that will give you as much as you can handle and then some. Very cutting edge approach to business. It can be a very politically charged atmosphere. Your rewarded for furthering your education with respect to your job. They allow you to be flexible with your hours for the most part. Benefits are top notch. I learned a bunch about all kinds of things.

Pros

Stable job, advancement

Cons

You may loose your job that they said you wouldn't, and they may take away all the stock options they gave you
