Fantastic students but very little opportunity for advancement
Working at NU-Q means you are surrounded by fantastic students and dedicated professionals who work together to make sure that all of our students are successful during their undergraduate career. The relationships that are built and fostered among staff at this organization is great but the expat life can make it a bit tedious to work with, live next to, and socialize with the same people. The life on an expat does make it difficult to manage work/life balance so it is important to remember to take time away from the office, colleagues, and students.
NU-Q is wonderful with regard to promoting professional development however, there are almost no opportunity for internal promotion and advancement; anyone applying for a staff position should be very aware that it is virtually impossible to move beyond the position for which you were originally hired.
great students, close bonds with colleagues, lots of fabulous events, professional development opportunities
lots of work outside of office hours, little to no opportunity for internal promotion and advancement
