KBR internationally didn't support training programs at all for professionals, but overall my experience was good with the company except for this major deficit with respect to training.

Management was ok, and I was treated well on the job, and was able to carry out my duties successfully. The work was in the middle-east, and the work was interesting. Overall, I found the experience positive, and appreciated the experience of working in the middle-east as an international experience.

Most enjoyable part of the job was going out to various multibillion dollar work sites, and helping the local environmental managers sort out issues. Auditing was relatively straight forward on their progress. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the uncertainty of working for a company that only hired people on local hire contracts, and not international contracts; this meant that even though I worked for KBR for almost 3 years, there was little to no chance to get onto new projects with them, like an international contracted employee would be able to do.
Pros
KBR occasionally would hold company parties where wives were invited
Cons
no professional upgrade training provided at all, company put 95 percent of works on local hire contracts, which means no future with company after job is done.

A typical day involves general duties such as scheduling meetings, proofreading and correcting letters to clients and contractors, coordinating with other departments on procedures and protocol.
I learned how to work well with a very diverse workforce of employees from all over the world.
Management and co-workers I thought were wonderful, professional, hard working and all shared a common goal on pushing projects through and meeting deadlines.
I don't believe that any job has hard parts only employees not willing to strive for excellence or encourage others to also want the same for the company they work for. The most enjoyable part of my job were my co-workers and the feeling I had when I was at work of being a part of a great company.
