A Café Supervisor / Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a café during a specific shift, ensuring smooth service, high customer satisfaction, and efficient team performance.

They act as the main point of coordination between staff and management, making sure that all front-of-house activities run smoothly—from customer service to food and beverage preparation.

Key Responsibilities

A Café Supervisor typically:

• Supervises baristas, cashiers, and service staff during their shift
• Ensures excellent customer service and handles customer complaints or issues
• Monitors food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency
• Manages opening and closing procedures (cash handling, reports, cleanliness checks)
• Assigns tasks and ensures staff follow schedules and daily duties
• Maintains inventory levels and reports shortages or supply needs
• Ensures compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Trains or supports new staff members when needed
• Coordinates with management on sales targets, promotions, and operational improvements
