School Cleaner

Job Purpose

To maintain a clean, hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the school premises by carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain classrooms, corridors, offices, staff rooms, washrooms, laboratories, libraries, and other assigned areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors and other surfaces regularly.
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, washbasins, doors, windows, and frequently touched surfaces.
  • Empty waste bins and dispose of waste properly in designated areas.
  • Refill soap, tissue paper, hand sanitizer, and other washroom supplies when required.
  • Clean furniture, desks, chairs, shelves, doors, and other school fixtures.
  • Ensure classrooms and common areas are clean and ready before the start of the school day.
  • Immediately report any maintenance issues, damages, leakages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to school procedures.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure that it is stored properly after use.
  • Assist with cleaning and preparation of school facilities before and after events, meetings, examinations, and other activities.
  • Follow all school health, safety, hygiene, safeguarding, and security procedures.
  • Take extra care when cleaning areas used by children to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Follow the assigned cleaning schedule and complete all duties within the required time.
  • Perform any other reasonable cleaning or housekeeping duties assigned by the supervisor.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
  • Follow instructions for the safe use, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
  • Place warning signs when floors are wet or slippery.
  • Report accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Never leave cleaning chemicals or equipment unattended in areas accessible to students.

Pay: QAR1,500.00 - QAR1,700.00 per month
