About the role

The Steward is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen at Hamad International Airport (HIA) Lounges is clean, well-maintained and organized at all times. It is important to maintain a proper of clean inventory with a high standard of cleanliness around all food and beverage areas.

Your Key Accountabilities:

Compliance with food safety and hygiene practices as per policies and procedures by the company.
Cleaning and washing cutlery, utensils and other items required in food preparation.
Ensuring that working area is clear of trash and waste.
Ensuring that working area is clean and sanitized at all times.
Ensuring the removal of broken, chipped cutlery or other kitchen items used in food preparation.
Ensuring that cleaning liquids and other materials such as gloves are well stocked and available.
Ensuring that workspace and all kitchen areas are cleaned as frequently as possible, paying specific attention to behind the counters and difficult to reach spaces.
Assisting in the set-up of buffets or as required by the immediate supervisor.
Communicate and work together with other team members assigned in different areas such as the kitchen, stores and operations with the objective of seamless integration of duties and functions.
Ensure that hygienic food and beverage management procedures are followed and that cleanliness are maintained at all times in all areas of the operations.

About You

A successful candidate should possess the following experience and qualifications:

• High School Diploma is required
• Up to 2 years of job-related experience
• Ability to foster teamwork among team members
• Strong command of English language
