Job Summary

Oxford Origins Professional Services is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Medical Coder to support healthcare documentation, coding accuracy, claims processing, and revenue cycle operations.

This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy working with medical records, healthcare documentation, coding systems, and data accuracy. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring proper coding practices, supporting claims submission processes, and maintaining compliance with healthcare documentation standards.

What You'll Do

• Review medical records and clinical documentation for coding accuracy
• Assign appropriate diagnostic, procedural, and treatment codes based on documentation
• Ensure coding compliance with established healthcare coding guidelines and standards
• Support claims processing and reimbursement-related activities
• Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate with appropriate stakeholders when clarification is required
• Maintain accurate coding records and healthcare documentation
• Audit coded records to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met
• Assist with claim edits, denials management, and coding-related inquiries
• Monitor updates to coding regulations and healthcare documentation requirements
• Prepare coding reports and productivity summaries as required
• Collaborate with healthcare administration and operational teams
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to coding accuracy and operational efficiency

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in medical coding, healthcare administration, medical billing, revenue cycle management, or related healthcare support roles
• Knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS, or equivalent medical coding systems
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive healthcare information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and healthcare software systems
• Medical coding certification is an advantage
• Diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field preferred
