About the role

Parkview Pet Center is looking for a hands-on Procurement Officer to manage purchasing and inventory for our veterinary clinic, alongside general clinic administration.

This is recurring-stock clinic purchasing, not project or industrial procurement. We buy veterinary medicines, medical consumables, pet food, retail products and everyday clinic supplies — all of it either used by the clinic or sold directly to pet owners. We are not a wholesaler, distributor or warehouse operation. If your background is mainly construction, MEP, fit-out, raw materials, timber or aluminium, automotive or spare parts, project purchasing or tendering, this is a very different environment and probably not the right fit.

What you will do

Procurement and inventory control are the majority of the role:

• Source veterinary medicines, medical consumables, equipment, pet food and retail products from local and international suppliers
• Request and compare quotations; negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery conditions
• Check quotations against previous purchase prices and question unexplained increases
• Use consumption, stock on hand and supplier lead times to decide when to reorder and how much
• Manage stock levels to reduce shortages, overstock, slow movers and expiry losses
• Calculate unit cost, landed cost and gross margin
• Raise purchase orders and follow them through approval, payment, delivery and receipt
• Coordinate international purchases, import permits, customs clearance and supporting documentation
• Maintain supplier, quotation and pricing records

Parkview is a small business, so the role also supports day-to-day operations: maintaining product listings and pricing on Snoonu and Talabat, coordinating contractors and minor facility work, keeping records organised, following up with accounting on supplier payments, and assisting with routine clinic and HR paperwork.

What we're looking for

Someone who has personally bought recurring consumable or retail stock and worked with inventory directly — not someone who raised purchase orders after another department decided what and how much to buy.

• Hands-on purchasing and inventory-control experience
• Confidence with numbers: costs, percentages, margins
• Ability to read consumption and stock data and recommend order quantities
• Experience sourcing and comparing suppliers
• Good Excel skills and experience with purchasing, ERP or inventory software
• Willingness to research unfamiliar products and find suitable suppliers or alternatives
• Good written and spoken English, strong attention to detail, reliable follow-through

Experience with veterinary, medical, pharmaceutical, laboratory, dental, food, FMCG or pet retail stock — anything recurring or expiry-dated — is particularly relevant. Qatar purchasing experience and familiarity with imports and customs documentation are strongly valued.

Working at Parkview

We've been operating in Doha since 2011, providing veterinary care, surgery, diagnostics, grooming, boarding, pet relocation and retail. We're a small, friendly team, and this role works directly with the Managing Director.

We run a paperless office on Microsoft 365 and use AI tools daily. You should be comfortable working this way.

This is a working veterinary clinic. There are animals around you all day — patients, boarders, clients' pets in reception — so being comfortable around them isn't optional, and a genuine love of animals goes a long way.

Selection process

Shortlisted applicants complete a practical online assessment of approximately 25 minutes covering business maths, numerical reasoning, Excel and attention to detail. Strong performers are invited to interview.

Pay: QAR6,000.00 - QAR7,500.00 per month
