Overview:

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was officially established by the Emiri Decision No13 of 2022, and it is the first national university specializing in academic applied, technical, and professional education in the State of Qatar. UDST has over 70 bachelor's and master's degree programs, diplomas, and certificates. The university houses 5 colleges: The College of Business, the College of Computing and Information Technology, the College of Engineering and Technology, the College of Health Sciences, and the College of General Education, in addition to specialized training centers for individuals and companies. UDST is recognized for its student-centered learning and state-of-the-art facilities. The College of General Education provides a range of core courses common to all students of the University, in subject areas that support the academic structure of the undergraduate programs. The General Education Curriculum is designed around courses in mathematics, natural sciences, research methods, English communication, social sciences, humanities, and the arts, aimed at developing students’ understanding of fundamental scientific concepts and their applications.

The College of General Education invites applications exclusively from candidates available locally i.e. in Qatar with valid QID and no objection letter (NOC) for the position of on-demand Part-Time Instructor in Mathematics starting in August 2026.

Responsibilities:

Your commitment

Reporting to the Head of the Department - Mathematics, the part-time instructor is ideally an experienced educator with creative and innovative teaching skills who can effectively plan, develop, and deliver course content in UDST’s undergraduate Mathematics curriculum. The successful candidate will also be responsible for evaluating student progress, collaborating with faculty teaching teams, and managing resources in the learning environment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Mathematics or Statistics or a related applied field
  • At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience in post-secondary, or higher education institutions


Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-graduate certificate, diploma, or degree in education teaching methods
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (e.g. D2L) and adaptive learning technologies


Other Required Skills

  • Commitment to creating and evaluating authentic assessment tools that validly and reliably measure mastery of course learning outcomes while promoting lifelong learning
  • Demonstrate ability to use a variety of educational technology and learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable students to be active participants in their education
  • Digital literacy and demonstrated fluency in learning management systems and an ability to model and facilitate the use of current and emerging digital platforms committed to student learning and feedback.
  • Manage the resources of the learning environment and course portfolio documents required for program review and accreditation processes.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative and collegial spirit and a demonstrated ability to establish rapport with learners, colleagues
