Hygiene Officer – Job Description

Job Title: Hygiene Officer
Location: Doha, Qatar
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Hygiene Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health compliance throughout the property. The Hygiene Officer will monitor hygiene practices, conduct inspections, provide training, and ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene management systems.
• Conduct regular hygiene, sanitation, and food safety inspections across all departments.
• Monitor HACCP procedures and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Perform daily checks of food storage, preparation, handling, and service areas.
• Conduct microbiological swab testing and hygiene audits as required.
• Ensure proper pest control measures are maintained and documented.
• Monitor cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures.
• Investigate hygiene-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain hygiene records, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Deliver food safety and hygiene training to employees.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar Municipality regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with department heads to address hygiene and safety concerns.
• Assist during external audits and regulatory inspections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Hospitality, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
• HACCP Certification (mandatory).
• Food Safety Level 3 or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Candidates currently residing in Qatar are preferred.
