About the Role

Mystic Publishing Co produces editorial, digital and promotional content for publishing, media, education and business clients.

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Content Writer and Editor to develop, review and improve written content across print and digital platforms. The successful candidate will write original material, edit submissions, proofread final drafts and ensure that all content is clear, accurate and aligned with the company’s editorial standards.

This role is suitable for candidates with experience in writing, editing, journalism, communications, marketing or digital content creation.

Key Responsibilities

Content Writing: Produce clear and engaging articles, website copy, newsletters, promotional materials, social media content and editorial features.

Editing: Review and improve content for structure, clarity, tone, readability and consistency.

Proofreading: Check spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting and factual accuracy before publication.

Content Planning: Support editorial calendars and help organize content according to deadlines, campaigns and publishing schedules.

Research: Conduct reliable research using appropriate sources and verify information before publication.

Digital Content: Prepare content for websites, blogs, email campaigns and social media platforms.

SEO Support: Apply basic search engine optimization principles, including keyword use, headings, internal links and metadata.

Style Compliance: Ensure that content follows approved brand, editorial and formatting guidelines.

Collaboration: Work with designers, marketing staff, editors, project coordinators and external contributors.

Content Updates: Review and refresh existing material to keep it accurate, relevant and useful.

Submission Management: Track drafts, revisions, approvals and final versions using shared content-management systems.

Quality Control: Identify inconsistencies, unsupported claims and unclear messaging before content is released.

Administrative Support: Maintain content files, editorial records, reference materials and publishing documentation.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Publishing or a related field is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in writing, editing, proofreading, journalism, marketing or digital content.
• Strong written English and excellent knowledge of grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to adapt writing style for different audiences and platforms.
• Strong research, organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage several assignments and meet deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Basic understanding of digital publishing and social media.
• Arabic language ability is an advantage but is not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing for websites, blogs, newsletters or social media.
• Familiarity with WordPress or another content-management system.
• Basic knowledge of search engine optimization.
• Experience using editing, grammar or project-management tools.
• Previous work in publishing, media, education or marketing.
• A portfolio or two recent writing samples.
• Current residence in Qatar and reasonable availability to start.
